What is a Potluck?

A potluck is a fun social gathering where everyone who attends brings a dish to share. Perhaps it's  a favorite recipe from your country? Or a family recipe you want to share with others? It could be a meat dish, a dip, a casserole, a salad, or a dessert. If you are not able to cook or prepare something, store-bought is fine!

Your dish should be large enough to be shared among 4-6 guests.. As everyone brings something, the result is a multi-course, internationally themed meal!

*The word pot-luck appears in the 16th century English work of Thomas Nashe, and used to mean "food provided for an unexpected or uninvited guest, the luck of the pot". In  modern times it usually is connected to a "communal meal”, where guests bring their own food.

Why is there a Potluck at International House?
