English Classes at International House

Come to International House for a fantastic group class experience! Classes are ongoing - you may join at any time! Most group classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For members, students, and family/partners of students English conversation and grammar classes start at $50 for 7 sessions. Classes are held in person at International House (and some classes will also be offered on Zoom). Classes are taught by experienced teachers or professionals. Students are from all over the world and different backgrounds are welcome!

At this time, we are only offering Intermediate English and Advanced English classes for students. If you feel like you are a beginner or unsure of your level, please complete a registration form and email info@ihouse.org to schedule an assessment to determine your level.

Private Tutoring Program

Language tutoring has been a long-standing service offered at International House for many years. Our English tutors are committed volunteers and community members. Our tutors volunteer their time and their motivation for working with students comes from their desire to give back to their community and make it a welcoming place for international students and visitors.

While many who seek tutoring at International House choose to focus on improving their skills for academic purposes, tutoring sessions at International House are typically more than just practice with grammar, pronunciation, or other ELL skills. In addition to skill development, often friendships are formed and tutors/tutees stay in contact even when students return to their home country.

English Tutors:

Students and Tutors are matched one-to-one for an hour or an hour and a half meeting weekly with focus on the student’s needs.

Schedule is made according to students and tutors availability Monday - Friday 9:00 to 4:00 (After hours maybe available on Zoom upon request).
