Our work relies on support through donations, membership and grants. Your generosity allows us to sustain and grow our programs for all. Thank you for partnering with us.

Ways to Give

While you can always make a general donation, here are several gift options that may meet your charitable giving desires and financial planning needs.

Honorary or in Memoriam Gift

You can make a tax-deductible gift in honor of or in memory of someone to show how much you care, while supporting IHRI and our programs.

Planned Giving

You can make a planned gift to IHRI which allows you to express generosity and make a difference by supporting IHRI now and in the future. You also may enjoy significant tax savings as making a planned gift may reduce estate and gift taxes and may help you avoid capital gains tax.

Planned gifts can be made in several different ways, including a bequest of property (cash, personal property, stocks and bonds) in a will or trust, a beneficiary designation of a retirement account, a beneficiary designation of a life insurance policy, a current gift of stock or other property, a gift from a donor advised fund, and through sophisticated charitable trusts.

In addition, if you are required to take a minimum distribution from your IRA, you may be able to make a direct payment to a charity like IHRI and  eliminate the income tax that would have been due for the required minimum distribution. (IHRI is not providing tax or legal advice. As with all tax and legal matters, please consult your accountant and/or estate planning attorney to understand how charitable planned gifts might impact your personal income, estate and gift tax situation.)

For more information regarding giving options,  please contact John Walker, Development & Financial Manager, john@ihouseri.org or Alex Holt, Executive Director, alex@ihouseri.org (401) 421-7181.
