We have a myriad of programs happening all year long which means plenty of opportunities for you to get involved!
English Classes and 1-1 Tutoring
Our group English classes are ongoing, so you may join at any time. All of our teachers are devoted volunteers with backgrounds ranging from former professors, artists, writers, and scholars! While studying English during open discussions, readings, and verbal practice, you can bolster your knowledge, build connections and become part of our IHRI family. 1-1 Tutoring can also be arranged. Annual Programs
Annual Burns Night Supper
Our Annual Burns’ Night Supper celebrates the magnificent life and work of Robert Burns by sharing Scottish poems, food, and songs. In a typical year, we host 60+ people in the house as we delight in traditional Haggis, sweetbread, and plenty more. Among the phenomenal songs and poetry shared, one of the highlights of the night is the bagpipe music that travels through our staircase and into the lively main room of the house.
Winter Solstice
Poet Margie Flanders, Mike Laureanno, and Mary Mueller MC welcome the Winter Solstice with bells, poetry, and song.
