Graduate Student and Visiting Scholar Advisory Council
The role of the council is to provide a voice for the graduate student and visiting scholar community at the International House of Rhode Island.
Current graduate student, graduate student partner/spouse/family member, or visiting scholar affiliated with a Rhode Island university.
Able to make a commitment for at least one full academic year (September - May).
Council Members serve as representatives for the graduate student community with the International House staff and stakeholders.
Council Members provide honest, constructive, solution oriented feedback to help the International House’s programs best serve the international community in Rhode Island.
Council members regularly participate in International House programs and activities so they can best represent the interests of the international student community, their partners, and/or family members.
All council members are asked to participate in four hours of activity each month at the International House. Additional hours of participation are welcome.
Participation is determined by each council member’s own interest and schedule. Activities may include: tutoring, helping with events, attending potluck lunches, and other community involvement.
The council will meet every other month during the academic year with a total of four group meetings. Time/dates will be determined after council selections are made.

Council members will be announced on Friday, October 4.
First Council meeting late October (Date/Time will be determined based on schedule of council members).
